This week we went to see our golden potential investigator Bill and June. When we came in their house it felt like we had a tea appointment with a regular member family. Bill is so prepared! They told us that they have been taught 10 years ago and he was reading a chapter a day from the book of mormon for the last three weeks (three weeks before we met them!). Bill has polio and said it would be hard for him to come, also because his grandson would be there on sunday, but if it would be possible for him to come he would be there. His wife had to work on sunday so she was not able to come. On sunday, Bill was there! The speakers were talking about being and doing, and that we have to strive to be like Christ (the same theme as the assistance gave during the multi conference). Bill loved it and felt amazing. The gospel principles class by sister Roberts was also a great lesson for him. We did the first lesson about our Heavenly Father. She gave him his own principles book and he said he really did enjoy it and would certainly come next week. He is also looking forward for our next appointment this coming week.
Another prepared person we taught this week for the first time is Leslie. Met met her on the street 2 weeks ago, she's a lovely person and we tried to call her ever since but she didn't answer. When we knocked on her door on saterday she was so happy to see us and was disappointed we couldn't come in right away. She happily had time the next evening (on sunday) and she was looking forward for our visit. When we came the following day with a fellowshipper, Brother Leslie Roberts, she opened the door and looked very ill. Her eyes were almost fully closed and she told as she had a bad migraine. Nevertheless she let us come in. Brother Roberts immediately asked if she would want a blessing and she agreed. Elder Raybould did the anointing and brother Roberts gave her a blessing that she would be fully healed so that she would be able to hear the missionaries. When we said "amen", she opened her eyes and her migraine was totally gone! We had an amazing lesson and she would read from the book of Mormon and agreed to be baptised if she would receive an answer.
Our other investigator Steve wouldn't answer his phone the hole week and wasn't there during the time we would've had an appointment. We knocked on his door yesterday and he explained he had no credit for his phone and that he was very busy the last couple of days but would have more time this coming period. We said he would have time the next evening and also told us that unless he was busy he did read the chapter we gave him to read last time and that he really enjoyed it. So, we'll see him today.
Grtz!
Elder Methorst
