We were finding in the area where bishop wanted us to find when we saw two chavs walking (chavs are young men with hoods and sometimes smoking weed). We spoke to them and they, Kurt and Mike, seemed really interested. We were next to the McDonalds and offered to share more with them outside the Mac. We taught them the restoration, gave them a Book of Mormon and made another appointment with them. They said that the McDonalds would be the best place to meet so our next appointment was at the McDonalds. Later that week we confirmed the appointment and they were, exactly on the minute, on time at the Mac! But that's not the only thing, they brought a friend with them! The third person, Callum, said he believes in the evolution theory but that he was interested to learn more. During the Plan of Happiness lesson, Callum and Kurt were really into the lessons and gave good answers to the questions and seemed to understand everything we taught them. Unfortunately they were not at church but we will bring them to an activity this Tuesday.
I love the Wigan members here. Some members really do their best to make us feel welcome in their ward, they give us cereals, fruits and we were even invited to a Italian restaurant. We were also able to celebrate the 89th birthday of sister Porter with Finish (Elder Marjanen) and Dutch birthday songs. We asked her if she had any requests and asked us if each of us could say a prayer before we leave. After the four prayers we were all quiet for a few moments and we all felled this wonderful warm feeling coming over us. I'm sure that this visit made her birthday a special day for her, especially because she barely had any visits.
groetjes!
Elder Methorst
