It has been a great week! I got to meet a lot of members here in the Moreton ward, they are amazing. We've had a tea appointment every day except for yesterday, all the members here are very welcoming. At one of the tea appointments one of the members asked us both to give a talk, that was a great privilege. The first sunday in the ward and I had the opportunity to give a talk. That was a great way for me to get closer to the members here.
I would also like to share a great blessing through one of those tea appointments with a couple called the Murphy's. Brother Murphy is not a member, yet, and I've heard from Elder Raybould that a lot of missionaries tried to teach him but that that had the opposite effect but the last few missionaries were able to start to build up a relationship with him. During are time with Murphy's we had a great conversation about happiness and we could see that he really did enjoy it. The next day we received a text from sister Murphy in which she thanked us for the great conversation and that it did do really well on brother Murphy and about his view towards the church. This is a great testimony to me that sharing our happiness as a honest friend can do miracles.
This week we also had the change to teach Steve. Steve is an investigator. Elder Raybould and I taught him in a different way as I normally did a lesson, we asked a lot of inspired questions and he was really open towards us. The things which happend to him in the past made him very open to receive the restored gospel in his life. Although we didn't got to teach him a lot of doctrines, the Spirit was very strong in the room. An miracle that happend during that lesson was that Elder Raybould asked him at the end of our conversation if he wanted to be baptised in which he responded: "I wanted to ask about that before you would leave." He wanted to be baptised and he made the goal to be baptised at the 28th of Januari. He would also come with us to church but unfortunately he was not there last sunday but hopefully he will be there this sunday.
It is wonderful to serve with Elder Raybould, he is a very uplifting missionary and I really enjoy every minute with him. I can already see that there will be no single second that we will have any contentions between each other.
I am also very happing with the new weekly focus which is to read every day a chapter about Jesus Christ and the atonement. I hope to keep the habbit for the rest of my life, understanding the atonement more fully will certainly increase my desire to share the gospel even more. Our zoneleaders Elders Rapata and Ashcraft were truly inspired with the weekly focus!
Bedankt voor de mail en tot volgende week! hopelijk heb ik dan meer tijd om te schrijven.
Groetjes!
